Tucked away in a small Transylvanian town we not only discovered Vasilica Isăcescu – a traditional wood carver collecting wild herbs to make a living but also antiques folk chairs in the local museum. We immediately recognised the iconic strength of these objects & created seven ‘little monsters’. We paired them with patchwork pillows created by Wiener Times & launched the collection at Collectible in Brussels. Available through the co/rizom sales network.
An edition of 7 chairs, inspired by the rich local Romanian heritage. Antique chairs from the Ethnographic Museum in Beius Romania were the trigger to develop a contemporary interpretation of this folkloristic objects. Complemented by pillows from Wiener Times to truly propel this collection into a current universe.
